Casa Portal is a 100-acre private retreat center tucked away on a sheep farm in Jackson, Maine, dedicated to slow living, community, and harmony with nature. Nestled among woodlands, streams, meadows, orchards, and sheep pastures, it offers space to reconnect through slowing down, simplicity, and silence. Here, the natural world sets the rhythm—inviting you to enjoy the sweetness of doing nothing. Cool off in the private swimming pond or sit with the flock of Navajo Churro sheep or wander along a woodland trail among the pine, birch, hemlock, maple, fir, beech, spruce and century-old heirloom apple orchard.
Accommodations include shared rooms in the “casa”, the heart of the farm, a welcoming 1840s farmhouse with a screened porch, library, sunroom, living room, and a dining area where an in-house chef serves daily farm-fresh meals. There is a newly renovated barn bunkhouse, woodland campsites, and private cabins nestled throughout the landscape, among transportive “portals”. All rooms are simple, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. Bedding and towels are provided for all guests. There is no air conditioning; fans are provided in every room. Bathrooms are private but shared in the guesthouse, located just outside the barn for barn guests, and private outhouses are provided for the cabins. Campers, cabin and bunk house dwellers can access the guesthouse bathrooms and various indoor spaces.

This is a small private venue with limited accommodations, therefore it is not possible to accommodate additional family members, spouses, children, friends, or other guests who are not enrolled in the immersion training program. For this venue, ONLY immersion participants can stay as guests onsite at Casa Portal. All immersion participants are required to stay onsite.

Filters
All rooms are simple, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. Bedding and towels are provided for all guests. There is no air conditioning; fans are provided in every room along with a nightstand, chair, dresser. Bathrooms are private but shared in the guesthouse. Roommate preferences may be shared upon registration (such as a specific persons you'd like to room with, gender, or other shared room preferences) and we will do our best to accommodate.

31 days or more prior to the start of your course you may request a full refund of your accommodations minus a $50 administrative fee
30 days or less prior to the start of the immersion, refunds are no longer possible unless your rooming reservation is filled, in which case you may request a refund minus a $100 administrative fee

Standalone private shared cabin is shared with one other person. Meadow views and 2 Twin beds and 1 loft bed. Bedding provided. Includes a private outhouse. Showers in the Guesthouse. Quiet and tucked away. No electricity. No air conditioning; fans provided.
A 10-15 minute walk from Guesthouse and parking area. Host will help with loading in and out from parking area. Must be able to walk 10-15 minutes uphill from cabin to Guesthouse

Newly renovated open bunk-style loft on the 2nd floor of the barn with 6 twin beds in a spacious shared sleeping space. Bathrooms are located just outside the barn. Showers are located in the guesthouse next door. Bedding provided. No air conditioning; fans provided.

Nearest Airports
40 minutes from Bangor International Airport in Maine.
2 hours from Portland International Airport in Maine
3 hours from Boston International Airport in Massachusetts
Bus Transportation
There is regular bus service from Boston and Portland to Belfast (Coastal Route) or Bangor.
The Bangor bus is non-stop and has more scheduled trips.

Car service for a fee can be arranged between Casa Portal and Bangor, Portland and Belfast upon request.
Arrival
Check-in is between 3-5pm on Sunday, August 16th, 2026
Have all paperwork ready upon arrival.
Programming begins with an Orientation circle on Sunday evening at 7pm.
Departure
Programming ends by 2pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2026
If you are booking flights, please make sure your departing flight leaves no earlier than 5pm.
Please plan to give yourself enough time to commute to airport without leaving the program early.
